Warmog's Armor Overview
Warmog's Armor is the ultimate sustained survivability item in League of Legends Classic. It grants a massive +750 HP (the most HP from any single item) and, when you have enough bonus HP, its passive regenerates 5% of your maximum HP every second while out of combat. This means a Warmog's user with 4,000 HP regenerates 200 HP per second — they can take damage, disengage for 10 seconds, and walk back into the fight at full HP. In siege and poke-heavy games, Warmog's single-handedly negates the enemy's poke damage. In classic LoL, Warmog's transforms tanks from "hard to kill" into "you can't kill me."

Siege Warfare
A tank with Warmog's can tank tower shots, back off, regen to full in 15 seconds, and tank again. This turns sieges from "we have 3 attempts before we're too low" into "we can siege forever." Have your tank eat tower shots and poke, regen, repeat.
Objective Control
Before Baron or Dragon, the Warmog's tank can face-check every bush. If enemies ambush you, survive with R/Flash, regen, and re-engage. The enemy used cooldowns — your team hasn't.
The "Never Recall" Lifestyle
With Warmog's, you literally never need to recall unless you need to buy items. Between fights: regen. Between skirmishes: regen. After a close fight: regen and push towers while the enemy must recall.
Baiting
Walk toward the enemy, eat a few spells, walk away. They think you're low. Regen for 15 seconds. Now they've wasted cooldowns and you're full HP. Your team can engage.
When NOT to Build Warmog's
- Against all-in comps — If fights end in 5 seconds, the out-of-combat regen never activates. Build Gargoyle Stoneplate instead.
- When you're the only frontline — You need resistances (armor/MR), not more HP. Warmog's first = you die in CC before regen activates.
- Against %HP damage — Vayne, Kog'Maw, Brand, Liandry's users. They deal damage as a percentage of your HP — more HP = more damage dealt to you.
- If you can't reach 1,100 bonus HP — 750 HP from Warmog's alone isn't enough. Make sure your other items push you over the threshold.

Is Warmog's Armor still good in modern League?
In classic LoL, Warmog's is a situational powerhouse. It's game-winning against poke/siege comps and mediocre against all-in/burst comps. The key is knowing when to build it. Against a team with Lux mid, Jayce top, and Caitlyn ADC? Rush Warmog's 2nd. Against a team with Zed, Rengar, and Draven? Skip it entirely.
How much HP do I need to make Warmog's worth it?
You need at least 3,500 total HP for Warmog's to feel impactful. Below that, the 5%/sec regen doesn't outpace the damage you'll take. At 4,000+ HP, Warmog's becomes oppressive. At 5,000+ HP, the enemy cannot kill you without committing ultimates.
Does Grievous Wounds affect Warmog's regen?
